The Guildhall School values its diversity of cultures and welcomes applications from all over the world. Applications and any enquiries about attending the Guildhall School are made directly to the School and not via any outside intermediary or agency.
Applications for September 2013 are available from 15 June 2012.
All additional documentation should be sent to: Registry, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Silk Street, Barbican, London, EC2Y 8DT. In no circumstances should applicants send forms or recordings to individual professors.
Applicants sending additional documentation from overseas should ensure that for Customs purposes they indicate that they will pay any import tax charged.
Information about audition or interview dates will normally be provided via email if available. If you apply close to the application deadline you may not receive further information for up to a month.
No auditions are required for our summer schools. Applications for these open during the autumn each year. More information about applying to our Summer School courses.

The application, any supporting documents and the application fee must all reach the Guildhall School by these dates or they may not be accepted.

*Research Programmes (DMus / PhD): early application is advisable in order for candidates to apply for appropriate means of funding their programme. However, there is no official closing date for applications and the panel will consider proposals at numerous points during the year.
During the week of 21 January 2013, the School will hold Music and Acting auditions in New York. Applicants should submit the application form above as normal after which contact concerning an audition in New York may occur. The deadline for such applications is 6 January 2013 but early applications are recommended.

*Offers to the BA Technical Theatre Arts programme are made from the start of the interview process until all places are filled, so it is in your interest to apply early.
** Applications for the BA/MA Acting programme are processed in the order in which they are received until all available audition slots are filled, so it is in your interest to submit your application as early as possible. If you have not sent in your form by mid-January 2013, you will need to check whether we are still able to accept any more applications, either by checking our website or by telephoning the Drama Department on +44 (0)20 7382 7149 in the evenings after 5.00pm to listen to a voicemail message.
After the application deadline for a programme, information about whether late applications for particular programmes are accepted will be available below or by contacting the relevant department.
Please note that late applications for the BA Technical Theatre Arts programme will not be accepted.
The School is normally unable to defer applications.
The School does not accept applications for a repeat audition for the same year of entry.
A third application to the BA/MA Acting programme will only be considered in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the School.
References are required with the application for all applicants to the BA Technical Theatre Arts, MA Training Actors, MA Music Therapy and Composition programmes. Applicants should ensure their referees are aware of the closing date.
All other applicants should supply contact details of two referees who may be contacted as part of the application process.

Students who have accepted an offer of a place for September 2012 should read the information available on the Prospective Student Resource Page (students will receive an email with the username and password after accepting their offer).
The School encourages applications from students with a disability or a specific learning requirement e.g. dyslexia. Nearly 10% of our student population fall into this category. If you would like to find out if the School’s support and environment are appropriate for you, you can contact the Student Affairs Department in confidence since Student Affairs staff are not involved in the audition process.
We would also encourage you to let the Student Affairs Department know what special requirements you may need for your audition or studying here as early in the application process as possible. This will help us support you as much as we can.

The Guildhall School is bound by the Data Protection Act, meaning that we can not discuss details of your application with anyone else unless you give your permission.
When you apply you will be given an application reference number to refer to in future correspondence. If you provide this reference number to a friend or relation they may contact the School on your behalf to discuss your application otherwise we will refuse permission. If you have not yet received an application number then details of the date and type of application submission, date of birth and contact details will be required.
