
This vibrant research forum brings together staff, students and guests of international standing to create a live laboratory of exploration and debate. The following events will take place during the Summer term and are open to the public:
Directed by Prof Andrew Lawrence-King, Guildhall School, with swordmaster Dr Klim Zhukhov, St Petersburg State University. Historical action, Baroque harps and violin bows all move together to the tempo and measure of 17th-century Italian swordsmanship. This production follows Monteverdi’s original stage directions, representing Tancredi and Clorinda’s epic swordfight in music.

A symposium on the development of musical opportunities, aesthetics and instrument technology for musicians of all physicalities.
