Audition and Application Procedure
Audition procedure
The course selection procedure consists of a performance audition.
Undergraduate requirements for repertoire
Postgraduate requirements are listed within each course description.
Selection is strictly competitive within each instrument or voice. The decision of the Principal regarding the results of auditions must be considered final.
Audition dates
Most auditions in London will be held at the School in November and throughout December. Exceptions to this are the auditions for Postgraduate courses in Music Therapy (February, March), Leadership (February, March) and Jazz (April). Auditions for MMA/DMA, CPD and the Repetiteur course are held as appropriate. When places are still available, there may be opportunities to audition for postgraduate courses in composition and postgraduate string courses in March.
On 22 and 23 February 2010, the School will hold auditions in central New York City. Candidates should submit the application form as normal after which contact concerning an audition in New York may occur. The deadline for such applications is 15 January 2010.
Because of the large number of candidates and specialist panel members involved in the auditions no alternative dates can be arranged.
