The landscape of music is being transformed, and the Guildhall School is meeting new challenges with cutting edge developments:

  • Collaboration with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Barbican Centre has produced a major new initiative called Centre for Orchestra. It provides high quality orchestral training, as well as one-to-one coaching from international composers, conductors and soloists.
  • Construction has recently begun on the Milton Court building which will include a new concert hall and two theatres, due to open in 2013.
  • The renowned opera programme and Guildhall Connect, the School's outreach programme, both recently won Queen's Anniversary Prizes.
  • Integrated cross-School resources link drama and music to provide cross-disciplinary teaching and performance, in conjunction with Creative Learning, the School's shared division with Barbican Education.
  • The School continues its commitment to innovative programmes in Leadership and Music Therapy alongside its traditional activities.
