Study abroad

Erasmus

The Guildhall School is committed to cultivating alliances with international partners in a variety of ways, one of these being through the ERASMUS Exchange Programme. In association with the British Council, the School participates in an exchange programme with an array of internationally renowned European conservatoires and music hochschule. Benefits of Erasmus include strengthening self-confidence, flexibility and independence, developing personal and professional contacts, experiencing different methods of study, and gaining insight into the international music profession. Many Erasmus students choose to study with a particular teacher that has been recommended to them.

Undergraduate and Postgraduate students may apply to partner institutions for a period of 3-5 months, while gaining credit to their degree. A grant is also awarded to help supplement living costs during the exchange period.

The Guildhall School currently has exchange agreements with a number of conservatoires in the following countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. The School does not currently offer study abroad with the USA.

Please note that we do not currently offer study abroad within our drama programmes.

Students from other institutions should contact the International Advisor at their own institution in the first instance.
