Donald Wetherick BMus(Hons) MPhil DipMT(N-R)
Donald Wetherick holds a BMus (Hons) degree from Edinburgh University (1987) and an MPhil in Musicology from Cambridge University (1988). He qualified as a music therapist at the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Centre (Dip. MTh (N-R)) in 1992 and has been in full time music therapy practice for 13 years. He has worked with children with autism and communication difficulties, children with learning disabilities and emotional/behavioural problems, and adults with long term health problems, including HIV/AIDS.
He holds a Certificate in Counselling Skills and Attitudes (Westminster Pastoral Foundation 1997) and has attended the Seminar for Professionals in the Field of Autism at the Tavistock/Portman Clinic (1997). He works at the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Centre and since 1999 he has been a tutor on the Nordoff-Robbins Master of Music Therapy course. He has presented at the World Congress of Music Therapy (2002), and at the BSMT Annual Conference (2004), and has had these papers published. He also writes and reviews for LINK music education magazine. He is registered with the HPC, a registered supervisor with the APMT, and is also an approved HPC Visitor.
