Victoria Newlyn BA(English) BA(Acting)

Victoria works as an actress, having trained at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and as a Movement teacher, specialising in working with singers.

She began her teaching career assisting and training with Mandy Demetriou, who is Movement coach at the National Opera Studio, the Jette Parker Young Artist Programme at Covent Garden, the Royal College of Music and Royal Academy Opera, and a highly regarded opera and theatre choreographer. Victoria currently teaches Movement on the Guildhall Opera Course, the Postgraduate Opera Associates programme, and on the Postgraduate Vocal Studies and Opera Courses at the Royal Academy of Music. She assists at the National Opera Studio and the Royal Opera House.

Victoria is also a drama coach on the Guildhall School Opera Course, has run drama workshops for Year 1 and Year 2 BMus singers, and teaches alongside Hal Cazalet on the Year 4/PG Music Theatre elective. Victoria coached and choreographed on Olivia Fuchs’ production of Falstaff and the Music Theatre/Opera Ensemble concerts at the Guildhall School, and on Handel’s Rinaldo for Royal Academy Opera.

As an actress, Victoria has toured extensively in theatre, and has recently appeared in several commercials and short films.
