Postgraduate Study in Music
The Guildhall School offers one of the world's most innovative packages of postgraduate study. Qualifications available include:

- Collaborative MMus in New Audiences and Innovative Practice* (subject to validation)
You can study for these awards on vocationally tailored courses in the pathways of Performance, Leadership and Composition, and in Music Therapy.
*PGDip available on completion of specified modules.
Performance Pathway
The Performance Pathway offers the following Professional Specialisms:
• Strings, Wind, Brass and Percussion Players: Advanced Instrumental Studies, Chamber Music and Orchestral Training
• Keyboard Players: Advanced Instrumental Studies, Chamber Music and courses for Accompanists and Repetiteurs
• Singers: Vocal Studies and Opera
• Historical Performance and Jazz musicians: specific courses tailored to each area of specialist need
Leadership Pathway
The Leadership students follow an innovative programme building on the pioneering work of the School in ensemble and creative activity.
Composition Pathway
Composers follow a programme which includes individual lessons, classes and opportunities for live performance of their compositions and projects outside the School.
Music Therapy
Aspiring Music Therapists: an intensive package of clinical, theoretical and practical activity.
DMus
Composers follow a unique and distinctive doctoral programme exploring their own creative research by taking advantage of the School's performing resource and well-established external partnerships.
Selection for all programmes
Selection is by audition (20 to 30 minutes). Applicants from Europe are expected to attend the audition, but those from more distant countries may send a recording (preferably CD), the result of which, in the case of the Accompaniment, Repetiteur, Opera and Music Therapy courses, is advisory only and subject to confirmation at a live audition.
Accompanists are provided where required, and there is an opportunity for a brief warm-up (about 20 minutes) with the accompanist before the audition. Audition requirements can be found within each course description.
