Principal Study
One-to-one principal study lies at the heart of the learning experience at the Guildhall School. We offer study in the following areas (some courses, including Chamber Music, Historical Performance, Leadership, Music Therapy and Opera, are available at postgraduate level only):

Your individual tuition, underpinned by solo and chamber coaching, is central to all Guildhall School programmes. The weekly lesson is combined with chamber/small ensemble coaching sessions and enhanced by workshops and masterclasses given by many eminent visiting artists and ensembles.
Collaboration with our immediate neighbours, the Barbican Centre and the London Symphony Orchestra, will not only give you year-round access to international artists, composers and conductors but also the opportunity to perform in two of London’s major performance spaces, the Barbican Hall and LSO St Luke’s.
From 2013, the state-of-the-art venues in the School’s own Milton Court including a new concert hall and two theatres will add to the School’s wealth of dedicated facilities.
Undergraduates
A four-year programme leading to a Bachelor of Music degree with Honours, where at least two-thirds of the credit of each year is focused on Principal Study. You will have at least 30 individual lessons a year, and performance is central to the programme for everyone. Read more about the undergraduate BMus programme.
Postgraduates
We offer one of the world's most innovative packages of postgraduate study. Qualifications available include Guildhall Artist in Performance, Composition and Leadership (MMus, MPerf, MComp, MLead), DMus/PhD, and MA in Music Therapy. Read more about our postgraduate programmes.
