Much of the education of singers takes place in a group context. The extensive class and group work, in addition to the one-to-one contact, is organised so that the singer can develop their mastery of language and stagecraft skills. Guiding students towards a true integration of these skills into a consolidated and mature vocal technique allows them to fully develop as complete musicians. The course is designed to help students move towards a mature autonomy of learning and study processes. By their fourth year they should have developed an originality, individuality of thought and intention both as musicians and singers.

'The Guildhall School's reputation for 'singing' is unmatched. The high concentration of singers under one roof maintains a highly competitive, yet healthy environment to develop singers and performers. Its central location increases the exposure level immensely.'
