GSO in concert in Barbican Hall

Guildhall School of Music & Drama provides scholarship support for over 44% of the student body.

For the 2022/23 academic year, our students will have to fund anything up to £26,565 for tuition fees alone. As financial costs for our students continue to rise, demand on the Guildhall School Scholarships Fund has increased substantially. Our goal is to ensure that anyone with the talent and ambition to excel is not constrained by personal circumstances.

Your support can help us achieve this goal and train the next generation of musicians, actors and production artists lighting up concert platforms, stages and screens around the world.

The support I receive means that I can stay in London and finish my studies without the looming anxiety of financial inadequacy. It means I can continue to learn, develop and get inspired by the incredible surroundings of the Barbican and the arts across London. I get to be a part of important work and feed my curiosity. I am thrilled and very honoured to be able to continue my studies with the help from my award.

Scholarships enable talented students to access our world class training, regardless of their background or circumstances. However, in the last two years there has been a 19% increase in applications to this fund, and a 37% increase over the past four years. Applications are predicted to rise dramatically in the near future, due to the devastating financial impact of COVID-19, as well as fee increases for EU students, post-Brexit. We need to ensure that our scholarship fund is able to support this increase in demand.

Now more than ever, we rely on the generosity of our Guildhall community to help support our students. We need your help to make our training accessible to all. Your donation, however small, really will make a difference.
