Late applications for music programmes

Late applications for some of our degree programmes are now open. Visit our applications portal to find out which degrees have re-opened.

Late applications will only be considered for programmes/pathways where we have audition spaces available. We cannot guarantee that late applications will be accepted.

After official deadlines have passed, we will close applications for programmes/disciplines as they become full. As a result, any late application you commence may be deleted at any time. Therefore, we strongly recommend that all late applications are completed in full straight away.

BMus and Guildhall Artist Masters – Recorded Auditions
MA Music Therapy
Advanced Certificate
All Opera Auditions 

Applications for BMus, Guildhall Artist Masters, MA Music Therapy, Advanced Certificate and the Opera course closed on Thursday 1 October 2020. 

The MA Music Therapy and Guildhall Artist Masters Composition is now full and late applications will not be accepted.

If you commenced an application but did not submit prior to deadline

If you commenced an application on our website but failed to submit your completed application form by the above date/time, your application will be placed on temporary hold. You will be unable to log in/complete your application until we re-open applications at 10am on Monday 12 October 2020. Once late applications are open, we strongly encourage you to complete your application straight away. 

If you would like to apply but have not started an application

If you have not commenced an application with us and missed the deadline, you will be unable to make a late application until 10am on Monday 12 October. Once late applications are open, we strongly encourage you to complete your application straight away. 

If you did not complete an application by the stated deadline, your application (if accepted) will be considered as a ‘late application’.  

Process for making a late application 

  • Applications re-open on 12 October  
  • You may log in and complete an existing application or commence a new late application 
  • If we can accommodate your late application, you will be allocated an audition/interview time as appropriate and informed by email 
  • If we are unable to accommodate your late application, we will inform you by email and your application fee will be refunded 

All Overseas Auditions  

We are unable to audition some programmes/disciplines in overseas venues. Find out more.

The deadline for all overseas auditions is 4.30pm (GMT) on Friday 15 January 2021. If you do not complete your application by the stated deadline, your application (if accepted) will be considered as a late application.   

Late applications will only be considered for programmes/pathways where we have audition spaces available. We cannot guarantee that late applications will be accepted.

Process for making a late application 

  • Applications close on 15 January 2021
  • Applications received after 4.30pm on 15 January 2021 will be considered as late
  • You may log in and complete an existing application or commence a new late application 
  • If we can accommodate your late application, you will be sent further email communications about the next steps, as appropriate. Please allow us up to 2 weeks after application to send this information
  • If we are unable to accommodate your late application, we will inform you by email and your application fee will be refunded 

Artist Diploma (excluding Opera) 

The deadline for this programme is Wednesday 3 March 2021. We encourage applicants to apply by this deadline. Any application received after this date will be considered as late.

Late applications will only be considered for programmes/pathways where we have audition spaces available. We cannot guarantee that late applications will be accepted.   

Process for making a late application 

  • Applications close on 3 March 2021
  • Applications received after 4.30pm on 3 March 2021 will be considered as late
  • You may log in and complete an existing application or commence a new late application 
  • If we can accommodate your late application, you will be sent further email communications about the next steps, as appropriate. Please allow us up to 2 weeks after application to send this information
  • If we are unable to accommodate your late application, we will inform you by email and your application fee will be refunded 

PG Cert / MA Opera Making and Writing 

The deadline for these programmes is Wednesday 7 April 2021. We encourage applicants to apply by this deadline. The late application procedure for these programmes will be updated in the spring term.  Any application received after this date will be considered as late.

Late applications will only be considered for programmes/pathways where we have audition spaces available. We cannot guarantee that late applications will be accepted.   

Process for making a late application 

  • Applications close on 7 April 2021
  • Applications received after 4.30pm on 7 April 2021 will be considered as late
  • You may log in and complete an existing application or commence a new late application 
  • If we can accommodate your late application, you will be sent further email communications about the next steps, as appropriate. Please allow us up to 2 weeks after application to send this information
  • If we are unable to accommodate your late application, we will inform you by email and your application fee will be refunded
