Kadialy Kouyate

Kadialy Kouyate is a musician, Kora player from Senegal.

His recent projects include:

Recording on West One Music album Champions of Africa – specially commissioned for the 2010 World Cup.

Recordings with Mumford & Sons and Baaba Maal as well as headlining WOMAD stage with Baaba Maal.

In May 2012 Kadialy took part in a unique production of Julius Caesar by the Royal Shakespeare Company, directed by Gregory Doran. He toured with the production for seven months around the UK, Moscow and the United States.

He has also become a member of the Afro Celt Sound System in summer 2015 with whom he played to 750,000 people at WOODSTOCK in Poland.

In September 2015 Kadialy took part in the remaking of the all-time TV mini-series ROOTS directed by Philip Noyce, a renowned Australian director. The first episode has been shot in different part of South Africa where Kadialy has spent two months shooting his role as the Griot but also as a cultural consultant.
