Philip Jenkins is widely recognised as one of Britain's most sought-after teachers. He studied with Harold Craxton at the Royal Academy of Music in London, in Paris with Jacques Fevrier, and then with the legendary pianist Dame Myra Hess. Early in his career he won First Prize in the Daily Mirror National Competition for Young Pianists and later in recognition of his impressive achievements at international competitions in Warsaw, Leeds, Bolzano and Brussels he was awarded the prestigious Dame Harriet Cohen International Piano Gold Medal.

Philip Jenkins' career as soloist and chamber music player has taken him to many parts of the world including North America, the Far East and throughout Europe. He has played with leading British and European orchestras with conductors including Jean-Pierre Jacqillat, Maurice Handford, Bohdan Wodiczko, Pall Pamplicher Palsson and Malcolm Arnold and has made recordings for the Chandos, Saga and Gaudeamus labels. He has given masterclasses at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester NY and the Manhattan School (New York), and at other leading world conservatories in St Petersburg, Amsterdam, Oslo, Thessaloniki, Reykjavik, Busan and Seoul and has taught numerous international prize-winning pianists including Marina Nadiradze, Arta Arnicane, Anano Gokieli, Polina Kogan, Evgeny Morozov and Sinae Lee.
