What's been your highlight during your time at Guildhall?

As the Technical Manager of 'Autumn Opera Scenes' in 2019, I oversaw the deployment of a 2-axis automation system in Milton Court Studio Theatre. This was immensely rewarding as I worked with a passionate team, the outcome was very successful and it marked the first use of automation equipment on a public production in this venue.

What's been your highlight in the industry?

There have been many highlights. However, operating the deck automation system (which includes ‘Pride Rock’) for one of the 20th Anniversary Shows at ‘The Lion King’ London was an amazing experience.

What other passions and projects have you enjoyed exploring during your time at Guildhall?

I have enjoyed the opportunity to explore Production Management and I was the Production Manager for a CoLab Project, which involved delivering the world premiere of an opera and the subsequent transfer to Grimeborn at the Arcola Theatre. I also had a fantastic time on my placement, where I was on tour for six weeks in Germany with Cirque du Soleil's 'TOTEM', including doing the transfer from Düsseldorf to Munich.

What's something you've learned that you feel will help you when you graduate?

Aside from the technical knowledge and skills, one of the biggest skills I will take away from Guildhall is being able to effectively communicate with a wide-range of people. This is definitely something which will help me out in the industry.

What are you most interested in working in after you graduate?

As an Automation Technician, I would like to work internationally on touring productions. Eventually, I would like to move into Production Management and Technical Direction.
