About Music Production in Logic Pro: Beginner Course
This six-week online course for beginners will cover the key techniques of digital music production, from audio and MIDI editing to recording, sound synthesis, and audio FX.
Who is the course for?
- Whether you’re an aspiring songwriter, composer or producer, this course aims to develop the core foundation of skills and techniques needed to realise your creative ideas.
- The course is recommended for beginners.
- There is no upper age limit on this course. We encourage and welcome participants from all ages 18 and over.
What can I expect?
A combination of live demonstrations, lectures and supervised practical work covering the main areas of music production.
Do I need anything for the course?
- a copy of Logic Pro software (version 10.6 or higher)
- a Mac computer/laptop
- a MIDI-keyboard
- a pair of headphones

Eligibility
- For everyone aged 18+. There is no upper age limit on this course. We encourage and welcome participants from all ages 18 and over.
- Participants must have sufficient English language skills to cope with course demands.
Online Short Courses Requirements
All sessions will take place online using Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent to you in advance of the course start date with further instructions.
To participate in online classes, you will need the following:
- An email address
- A reliable internet connection
- A laptop/tablet/desktop computer with a microphone and camera (most have these included)
- Speakers/headphones (the speakers in your laptop/tablet/computer should be sufficient)
- A fully updated web browser able to use the most up to date version of Zoom, or a fully updated Zoom client

About the Course Tutor
The course is taught by Seth Scott-Deuchar, Electronic Music teacher at Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Seth is a composer and sound designer who produces music for a variety of media including film, theatre and dance. He studied Electronic Music at Guildhall, followed by Composition at the University of Manchester where he specialised in electroacoustic music and interactive media.
