About In the Studio: Music Production with Glen Scott

This eight-week online evening course will give you a unique insight into the work of award-winning British music producer, songwriter, engineer and musician Glen Scott, whilst sharing the tips and tricks needed to succeed within music production and the music industry.

With a vast discography of artists including Craig David, James Morrison and Beverly Knight (to name a few), Glen will share his experience of working in all areas of music production and the music industry for over 3 decades.

Sessions will include audio engineering, song arrangement and writing, production, instrumentation, arrangements and harmony, recording budgets, planning and execution and preparing a song for release.

Who is the course for?

  • Anyone aged 18 or over, with an interest or a passion for music production
  • Producers looking to expand their existing knowledge
  • An artist or band looking to complete their own productions from start to finish
  • A songwriter hoping to write, arrange and produce better demos for pitching
  • An engineer hoping to produce more professional sounding mixes
  • You will need basic knowledge of using Logic Pro software

Do I need anything for the course?

  • A Mac computer/laptop
  • A copy of Logic Pro X software
  • A USB keyboard, or an audio interface, microphone and an instrument (desirable)
  • A pencil and pad
  • Basic knowledge of using Logic Pro software

    Online Short Courses Requirements

    All sessions will take place online using Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent to you in advance of the course start date with further instructions.

    To participate in online classes you will need the following:

    • An email address
    • A reliable internet connection
    • A laptop/tablet/desktop computer with a microphone and camera (most have these included)
    • Speakers/headphones (the speakers in your laptop/tablet/computer should be sufficient)
    • A fully updated web browser able to use the most up to date version of Zoom, or a fully updated Zoom client

    About the Course Tutor

    This course is taught by Glen Scott.

    With over 30 years of experience, Glen Scott is an award-winning British producer, arranger, mixing engineer, singer-songwriter and session musician.

    Since the early 90s he has worked consistently with many talented producers, artists, musicians, engineers and publishers to date.

    His extensive discography includes artists such as Craig David, James Morrison, Beverley Knight, Ron Sexsmith, Eric Bibb, Mary J Blidge, Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam), Luis Fonsi, James Blunt, Shawn Mendes and the Backstreet Boys, to name a few.
