About Introduction to the Music Business
This six-week in-person evening course will provide you with a thorough introduction to the music business. The course will cover a broad range of topics, including copyrighting, processes around performing, advice on recording contracts and how to apply for public funding to launch your own project.
Please note that the course will focus on the UK music business.

- Musicians, singers, songwriters and composers wanting to understand more about the industry they are trying to break into

This course will consist of lectures with time for questions and discussions with the tutor and other participants.

Eligibility
- For everyone aged 18+
- Participants must have sufficient English language skills to cope with course demands.
About the Course Tutor
The course is taught by Mark Hartley.
Mark works as a freelance professional producer and production manager, whilst overseeing specialist school for performance and production arts 'The Jam Academy'.
Mark was the first trumpet player to study joint classical and jazz at Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He has worked for the Arts Council, trained in Film Composition and worked extensively in the music and theatre industries.
