*Equivalent to UK school years 12 & 13. Please note we cannot accept any participants over 18 due to safeguarding. We are happy to accept participants who will be in Year 12 in September but will turn 16 in July/August.

About Acting Intensive for Ages 16–17: Online
This six-day online acting course offers a unique insight into actor training. During this course, you will learn how to approach contemporary text. Working closely with a director, you will explore elements of practical and vocational training.
The online course also offers the additional opportunity to examine how these techniques apply to adapting your performance to self-taping and video auditions.
Who is the course for?
- 16 and 17 year olds interested in learning more about acting.
- No previous experience is necessary, just a passion and enthusiasm for drama.
What can I expect?
You will work in a group of up to 12 participants. Each group will be led by a dedicated course director who will work with you on:
- Scene analysis
- Character development
- Cutting-edge acting tools
- Personal response work
- Project rehearsals

- A set text may need to be purchased (details to be confirmed)

Eligibility
- For everyone aged 16–17.*
- Participants must have sufficient English language skills to cope with course demands.

Online Short Courses Requirements
All sessions will take place online using Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent to you in advance of the course start date with further instructions.
To participate in online classes you will need the following:
- An email address
- A reliable internet connection
- A laptop/tablet/desktop computer with a microphone and camera (most have these included)
- Speakers/headphones (the speakers in your laptop/tablet/computer should be sufficient)
- A fully updated web browser able to use the most up to date version of Zoom, or a fully updated Zoom client

About the Course Tutor
You will work with dedicated industry professionals appointed by the course leader. These will be confirmed near to the course start date.
The course has been developed by Aled Pedrick.
Aled trained on Guildhall School's acting programme and has worked as a teacher here for over ten years. He is an actor, theatre director and singing teacher. In addition to Guildhall School, Aled teaches at Arts Ed, Identity Drama School and London Southbank University. He is also a guest director at Drama Studio London.
