About Contemporary A Cappella with Accent

Join international a cappella group Accent and Guildhall Vocal Harmony Professor James Rose in this exciting four-day in-person course to develop vocal skills for ensembles in an energetic, fun and creative environment.

Inspired by TAKE 6 and The Hi-Lo's, Accent are a six-piece international and world-renowned a cappella group, with members living in France, Sweden, Canada, the United Kingdom and America.

Who is the course for?

Anyone who is excited by vocal group singing. This course will equip you with the skills to succeed in the industry while providing a great opportunity to meet like-minded singers, and there's something to inspire everyone.

What can I expect?

Over four days, you will form an a cappella group with like-minded participants, develop your vocal harmony skills and learn from industry professionals, culminating in a recording session on the final day.

You'll be able to customise your schedule by selecting from an expansive range of masterclasses, including improvisation, vocal technique, beatboxing, arranging, rhythm and vocal group history.

Do I need anything for the course?
  • Pen/pencil and notebook (or some other way to take notes)
  • Although not essential, you may find a tablet/iPad helpful for digital resource sharing and presentation
  • As there will be some singing involved, you might like to bring a bottle of water or something similar to support your vocal health.
