CoreUs | Kate Hayes

CoreUs reimagines the music experience for a digital age, where the audience is invited to a wider platform of musical engagement and the transformative nature of music reaches higher levels for every participant. Together, in sound, Kate Hayes's  CoreUs concept offer audiences the opportunity, not just to witness, but to meaningfully participate in the creation of a piece of live music.

Through an easy to use web based app, audience members collaborate with live musicians to coax the music into a one-time only reality. The performance weaves the compositions, audience directions and performers' musical choices to create an inclusive, music-making experience.

Kate Hayes is a creative musician performing and leading projects throughout the UK and Europe. She combines her music work with sound design, and regularly devises cross-disciplinary collaborations and creative music-making projects.

Expression and engagement are key areas of her creative practice which remain central across her performing, composing and leading work. Her recent projects have included The Monster in The Maze, an international community opera with London Symphony Orchestra, Berliner Philharmoniker and Festival D'Aix; performances at Wembley Stadium, Copper Box Arena and Olympic Stadium; and recording with producer Gary Noble (Amy Winehouse, Jasmine Sullivan) and Nightmares on Wax.

Kate has presented this work at Somerset House, Queen Mary University and in San Jose and published academic papers.
