Marketing & PR for the Creative Industries

This new course will provide participants with an introduction to marketing and PR in the creative industries environment. Through the six sessions you will learn about different aspects of developing a marketing strategy such as how to identify and engage audiences, organise a marketing budget, grow your profile online, and develop and implement a PR plan.

The course is ideal for artists, creatives and those with small businesses looking to develop an understanding of marketing. It is aimed at beginners, those new to public relations & marketing or with a basic understanding of marketing. 

Throughout the course, the following topics will be explored:

  • Marketing Strategy
  • Branding and brand management 
  • Social Media in the Marketing Mix
  • Public and Press Relations
  • Identifying and Engaging your audience
  • Budget Planning

Times: 7pm-9pm 
Course fee: £250

Eligibility

For everyone aged 18+

Applicants must have sufficient English language skills to cope with course demands.

About the course tutor

The course has been developed by Annie Jarvis.

Annie Jarvis is the Senior Manager for Development and New Business at Cause4, a social enterprise and B-Corporation that champions new ways of scaling up charities and social enterprises, supporting them to change and grow. Prior to joining Cause4, Annie worked in a freelance capacity as a Social Media Manager and Writer, working for a number of companies both within the UK and abroad, focusing on their external communications and marketing. Annie has also recently participated in the European Sponsorship Association’s Arts Sponsorship Course, where she received a Commendation.

Annie’s role at Cause4 involves leading on fundraising and campaign development for a range of charities, managing the renowned Trustee Leadership Programme and delivering training on marketing, social media management, and fundraising, among other topics.
