Creative Music Training: Working with Young People

This weekend training course will explore the wide range of skills and approaches needed to lead creative musical activities with children and young people, within or outside of mainstream education. The course will cover various topics including processes for composition, how to cater for different ability levels, improvisation and more. Taught by expert Guildhall teachers and industry-leading guest tutors, Creative Music Training is particularly suitable for musicians, music leaders and students in higher education.
This course will equip you with the skills to aide and support effective workshop leading and collaborative music. It is taught by Guildhall School and Barbican’s joint Creative Learning department which has over 25 years of experience, excellence and leadership in this field. The course is led by Creative Learning tutors Sigrun Saevarsdottir-Griffiths and Paul Griffiths.

Eligibility
- This course is open to anyone aged 18+
- Participants should have demonstrable musicianship skills, whether acquired through formal training or self-taught.
- Applicants should also ensure they have sufficient English language skills to be able to cope with the demands of this course.
