One of the best things about PACE is it's very experiential - you are not just thinking about the theory of it but you are actually putting in the work and you get to experience both sides of it.

ages 14-18

Book here

This course offers an opportunity for girls aged 14-18 to develop their skills in composition and music technology. As part of the course, you will be taught by professional musicians step by step how to record, compose and produce your own individual piece on state-of-the-art equipment. By the end of the course, you will be able to showcase your work in a small workshop, as well as take a CD of your recording home.

During the course you will:

  • Explore recording techniques, drum programming, sampling, sound design and ways of developing your ideas
  • Receive one-to-one support and tuition
  • Work with instrumentalists on material you want to sample/record
  • Explore and produce in Ableton Live
  • Workshop your piece at the end of the course and take a CD home

Applicants are not required to have any previous experience in music, however you have to submit a short paragraph on why you would like to do the course, detailing anything specific that inspired you to make or produce music. If you wish, you may also submit audio files of your work, however it is not necessary and will not impact our judgement for your suitability of the course.
