About Using Music in your Workplace

Are you wanting to use music in your workplace in a more meaningful way - to improve the mental health of your patients, or facilitate a meaningful connection between mothers and babies, for example? Looking to introduce it in to your current practice? Or perhaps you are a musician and are wanting an insight into the world of music therapy, before committing to Guildhall’s two year MA course?

Using Music in your Workplace is a one-day course that will give you an insight into music therapy and equip you with techniques to apply to existing practices.

Who is the course for?

  • Education, health and community workers who are wanting to improve existing music practices in a more meaningful way, or are looking to introduce it into the workplace.
  • Participants who are already using music in their profession (i.e. a musician) and are looking to get an insight into music therapy.

We are pleased to offer a number of places on this course at a 20% discount for NHS workers and employees in the charity sector.

If you are unsure about whether this course would be right for you, please contact us.

The course covers:

  • A brief overview of what music therapy is
  • Practical music therapy-style techniques for working with children, adolescents and adults
  • An introduction to songwriting
  • Theoretical topics including psychotherapeutic thinking, understanding of early development, attachment, mental health issues and neurodiversity
