2016 Graduation Ceremony will take place on Friday 4 November 2016.
The School’s annual Graduation Day ceremonies will take place in the majestic Great Hall of the Guildhall in Gresham Street, London EC2. All students who are eligible to attend will receive an email in early August following the release of results giving details of the online ticket ordering process.
Guest tickets cost £20 each – the student’s own ticket is free. Each student has a firm allocation of three guest tickets and may also apply to go on a waiting list for further guest tickets. Additional guest tickets however cannot be guaranteed.
The ceremony is for graduating students and their families and guests; it is not open to the general public and only ticket holders are allowed access. As well as the presentation of degree certificates to graduating students, presentations of Honorary Diplomas, Gold Medals and special prizes are also made.

Booking Graduation Tickets
The online booking process has now closed. Graduands and their guests who have not booked tickets should contact Registry (email below) for further information.
Additional guest tickets can be requested by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the number you require. You will be informed if you have been successful after 26 September. Tickets will be issued on a first-come-first-served basis.
Tickets will be sent out from 19 October. Please only contact Registry if you have not received your tickets by 26 October.
Ceremony timings and access
This year the School will hold two Graduation Ceremonies. Graduands must attend their designated ceremony, requests to swap ceremony cannot be considered.
The following students will be invited to the morning ceremony starting at 11.30am:
- All postgraduate students (except for MA Acting students)
All students and guests should be seated in the Great Hall by 11.15am ready for the ceremony to begin with a ceremonial procession to the dais by the platform party. The Ceremony will last approximately 1 hour and will be followed by a drinks reception in the Old Library of the Guildhall until the event finishes at 1.30pm.
The following students will be invited to the afternoon ceremony starting at 5.00pm:
- All undergraduate students (with MA Acting students)
All students and guests should be seated in the Great Hall by 4.45pm ready for the ceremony to begin at 5.00pm with a ceremonial procession to the dais by the platform party. The formal part of the event finishes at around 6.15pm and is followed by a drinks reception in the Old Library of the Guildhall with the whole event finishing between 7.30-8.00pm.
Arrival at the Guildhall
All students (and their families), should arrive in time to register and collect robes. Entry to the Guildhall is via the Art Gallery entrance from the Guildhall Yard. Students with guests who require wheelchair access or other assistance should contact Registry, to discuss any access issues. The Guildhall is fully accessible for wheelchair users.
The Alumni Office invites all graduating students to enter a prize draw when they arrive for their ceremony. The prizes (two bottles of champagne per ceremony, to help you celebrate) will be ready to collect from the Alumni Desk immediately after each ceremony.
Ede and Ravenscroft, the robemakers for the School, bring pre-ordered robes to the Guildhall and robing takes place in the Guildhall Crypts. Robes should be ordered at least 21 days before the ceremony via their website or by contacting the call centre on 01223 861854. A small number of spare robes are brought to the ceremony but hire is charged at premium rate. Students with a provisional invitation should not book robes until their award has been confirmed in writing.
Photographers H Tempest Ltd will be operating the photographic studio in the Crypts before and after each ceremony. A brochure regarding the service is sent with students’ tickets. Details of their service can be found online at their website.

How to receive your degree certificate if you are not attending Graduation
If you can not attend the Graduation ceremony then your degree certificate will be posted to your home address within three weeks of the event. Please check your current home address on eGo and update this if it has changed. If your eGo account has expired please contact Registry via email@example.com and we will make the change for you.
