Blitz: The Club That Shaped The 80s

Blitz Exhibition - bar created by GPS

Exhibition running until 29 March 2026

Step inside the legendary Blitz nightclub – the cradle of 1980s style, music and culture – in this major new exhibition at the Design Museum.

Guildhall Production Studio has been a central part of the creative team bringing Blitz: The Club That Shaped The 80s to life.

Working with Curator Danielle Thom and Exhibitions Project Manager Polly Cheng, Guildhall artists helped to recreate the club’s bar and stage areas and developed an immersive environment that captures the electric atmosphere of 1980s Soho.

Visitors can experience an avatar of resident DJ and co-founder Rusty Egan, watch a vivid montage of the Blitz Kids, and see restored footage of Spandau Ballet from 1980 – all produced with input from Guildhall students, alumni, freelancers and industry partners Target3D, Digital Catapult and Southby Productions.

This exhibition offers a sensory journey back to the roots of an iconic cultural movement, with Guildhall artistry at its heart.
