Take the next step in your orchestral playing
With our inspiring spring residential course, NCYO Springboard musicians get the chance to:
- Develop some of the key techniques needed to be part of an orchestra
- Play a wide range of music alongside more experienced musicians
- Work with inspiring conductors
- Build confidence and skills in a supportive and friendly environment
Throughout the course mornings focus on sectional rehearsals and dedicated repertoire, while afternoons involve rehearsing with the main orchestra to support your move onto joining NCYO. Students also get the chance to socialise, take part in lots of fun activities and make new friends on this fun residential course.
Springboard students perform in the concert with NCYO and in the pre-concert performance alongside NCYO Rise.
NCYO Springboard is designed for students playing at Grades 4–6 on their instrument, which should be demonstrated via the answers on their application form. No auditions are needed to join NCYO Springboard.
NCYO bursaries are means tested and open to students who can demonstrate real financial need.
Bursaries are awarded on a means-tested basis, and any student living in a household with a residual income of less that £60,000 may apply. The residual household income is the total gross taxable income from the household, reducing that by the amount of Private Pension Plans, AVC’s, or other taxable allowances which is then further reduced by £1,130 for each child/student in the household who are financially dependent on the family.
To apply for a bursary for NCYO, simply fill out our application form and tick the relevant box in the finance and fees section.
If you qualify for a NYCO bursary, you can also get 30% off the course fees for one or more siblings who join any of our courses.
