About Acting Intensive for Ages 11-14
This new three-day intensive acting course delves into modern industry practice, building upon traditional Stanislavsky-based methods. The course draws on aspects of Utah Hagen, Susan Batson and Meisner providing an efficient toolkit of tips to lift your text from the page to the stage.
Participants will explore a number of different scenes and monologues through the lens of various acting tools.
Who is the course for?
The course is for anyone aged 11–14 (years 7–9) with a passion and curiosity for acting, whether you’re new to acting or building on previous experience.
What can I expect?
The course is practical and fast-paced. You will gain a strong toolkit to unpack and analyse a variety of texts in preparation for performance and auditions. By the end of the course, you will have practical skills to apply the theory that you have learned in the course to your acting.
Do I need anything for the course?
- A notebook, pen, pencil, and a bottle of water
- Loose fitting clothes for physical activity

- Participants must have sufficient English language skills in order to fully engage with the course
About the Course Tutor
This course is taught by Aled Pedrick.
Aled trained at Guildhall School of Music & Drama and is a professional acting and vocal coach, and theatre director. Aled teaches at Guildhall School on the BA Acting course, where he is also Head of Acting for Guildhall Young Artists Online and Course Leader on Guildhall’s Musical Theatre Summer Course and the Acting Summer School for Ages 16-17. When Aled is not teaching at Guildhall School, he is lecturing at Arts Ed drama school, Identity School of Acting, Florida State University, London Southbank University, University of Wales and other institutions across the UK.
