About Music Production in Logic Pro for Ages 14–17
This five-day course for beginners will develop your skills in music technology. You will learn how to compose and produce your own piece through sessions focusing on technical and creative elements of production. Covering sampling, synthesis, drum machines, MIDI instruments and audio mixing, the course will give you the skills to realise your musical vision!
Who is the course for?
Anyone aged 14 to 17 at a beginner level or with a basic understanding of music production, who wish to gain the skills to independently write and produce music.
What can I expect?
The course will be a mix of theory and practical projects aimed at giving you transferable skills for your own project. You will be encouraged to be creative and produce your own tracks daily, with the aim of having a three-minute track by the end of the week.
You can expect to learn about:
- MIDI
- Synthesis
- Audio editing
- Plug-ins and workflow
- Creative skills needed to produce a track including sound design, composition techniques, beat-making, mixing and more
Do I need anything for the course?
A pair of headphones (with a 1/4" jack) (headphones will also be provided but some participants like to bring their own).

Participation Bursaries are available for this course. Please note the application deadline for Participation Bursaries is 27 April 2026.

- Participants must have sufficient English language skills in order to fully engage with the course
About the Course Tutor
The course is led by David Corney.
David Corney is a musician, producer and educator based in London. David has released numerous albums, singles and remixes under the artist name Hyetal with live performances and DJ sets at festivals such as Glastonbury, Moma PS1, clubs Berghain, Fabric and live broadcasts on BBC Radio 1, NTS and Rinse FM.
In parallel to his solo work David has been a prolific collaborator, working as producer and composer on a number of projects including Jessie Ware's gold selling debut album Devotion. A love of art and film has led to composing sound for moving image. In 2022 he collaborated with artist Rana Begum on an audio visual installation at the Venice Biennale. David has continued to work across related fields including game sound and film.
