About Music Production in Logic Pro: Intermediate

This six-week online evening course will cover a wide range of topics designed to expand your knowledge and understanding of music technology, whilst improving the quality of your productions. Topics include techniques in sound synthesis and advanced audio processing, as well as mixing music and mastering audio. 

Who is the course for?
  • For anyone aged 18 and over with prior experience of digital music production. The course is intended for more experienced composers, producers and sound designers.
  • This course is also a suitable as a follow-on to the Music Production in Logic Pro: Beginners course.
What can I expect?

You can expect to cover the following topics:

  • Sound design using subtractive and FM synthesis techniques
  • MIDI FX
  • Audio Editing with Flex Time
  • Creative Audio Sampling
  • Principals of Audio Mixing with a focus on tone, dynamics and space. 
Do I need anything for the course?
  • A copy of Logic Pro software
  • A Mac computer/laptop
  • A MIDI-keyboard
  • A pair of headphones

Online Short Course Requirements

All sessions will take place online using Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent to you in advance of the course start date with further instructions.

To participate in online classes you will need the following:

  • An email address
  • A reliable internet connection
  • A laptop/tablet/desktop computer with a microphone and camera (most have these included)
  • Speakers/headphones (the speakers in your laptop/tablet/computer should be sufficient)
  • A fully updated web browser able to use the most up to date version of Zoom, or a fully updated Zoom client

About the Course Tutor

The course is taught by David Corney. 

David Corney is a musician, producer and educator based in London. David has released numerous albums, singles and remixes under the artist name Hyetal with live performances and DJ sets at festivals such as Glastonbury, Moma PS1, clubs Berghain, Fabric and live broadcasts on BBC Radio 1, NTS and Rinse FM. 

In parallel to his solo work David has been a prolific collaborator, working as producer and composer on a number of projects including Jessie Ware's gold selling debut album Devotion. A love of art and film has led to composing sound for moving image. In 2022 he collaborated with artist Rana Begum on an audio visual installation at the Venice Biennale. David has continued to work across related fields including game sound and film.
