About Music Production in Logic Pro: Intermediate
This six-week online evening course will cover a wide range of topics designed to expand your knowledge and understanding of music technology, whilst improving the quality of your productions. Topics include techniques in sound synthesis and advanced audio processing, as well as mixing music and mastering audio.
Who is the course for?
This course is suitable as a follow-on to the Music Production in Logic Pro: Beginner Course, or for individuals with prior experience of digital music production. It is intended for more experienced composers, producers and sound designers.
What can I expect?
You can expect to cover the following topics:
- Sound design using subtractive and FM synthesis techniques
- MIDI FX
- Audio Editing with Flex Time
- Creative Audio Sampling
- Principals of Audio Mixing with a focus on tone, dynamics and space.
Do I need anything for the course?
- A copy of Logic Pro software
- A Mac computer/laptop
- A MIDI-keyboard
- A pair of headphones

Eligibility
- For everyone aged 18+.
- Participants should have prior experience of digital music production.
- Participants must have sufficient English language skills to cope with course demands.
Online Short Course Requirements
All sessions will take place online using Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent to you in advance of the course start date with further instructions.
To participate in online classes you will need the following:
- An email address
- A reliable internet connection
- A laptop/tablet/desktop computer with a microphone and camera (most have these included)
- Speakers/headphones (the speakers in your laptop/tablet/computer should be sufficient)
- A fully updated web browser able to use the most up to date version of Zoom, or a fully updated Zoom client

About the Course Tutor
The course is taught by Guildhall School Electronic Music Professor Seth Scott-Deuchar.
Seth is a composer and sound designer who produces music for a variety of media including film, theatre and dance. He studied Electronic Music at Guildhall, followed by Composition at the University of Manchester where he specialised in electroacoustic music and interactive media.
