Vocal & Opera Studies Open Day
Thursday 22 February: Guildhall School of Music & Drama
Timings will be confirmed nearer to the event, but we expect registration to take place at around 0930 and for the open day to commence at 1000.
You will have the opportunity to meet our professors, observe a masterclass and our spring opera dress rehearsal, and to learn why we were ranked 1st in Arts, Drama & Music by the Complete University Guide 2024 and number one higher education institution for Music in the 2024 Guardian University Guide.

Booking is now open for our Music Therapy Open Day, taking place on Tuesday 24 October 2023 at 11.00am - 5.00pm. Registration will open from 10.30am.
Join us to discover more about the programme, meet our academics and learn why we were ranked the number one higher education institution for Music in the 2024 Guardian University Guide music league table.
The Open Day will feature a Q&A session, followed by an improvisation workshop.
Our virtual PGCert Performance Teaching Open Evenings are a great way to find out more about the course, hear from Programme Leader Carlos Lopez Real and ask any questions you might have about the training.

Open Day FAQs
Do I have to come for the whole day?
No - the format of the open day is very informal and allows you to plan your day as you wish. The classes and components of the open days are scheduled to show you as much of what we do and offer as possible, so it is highly beneficial to attend the entire day.
Can I attend an open day if I am 16 and have not taken my A-Levels yet?
Yes - the open days are aimed at people who are auditioning or considering auditioning. You can also attend if you are younger than 16.
Will I be able to view the halls of residence?
No, we are unable to offer visits of the halls of residence on music open days, but you can take a look inside Sundial Court in our 360 Tour.
Will I have an opportunity to speak with Guildhall Professors or students?
Yes - there will be students around all day happy to answer your questions, and you will be able to talk to professors taking the classes. However if there is someone in particular you would like to meet with please contact the relevant Principal Study department and we will do our best for you.
Do I need to bring my instrument?
You will be advised by the department hosting the open day if you need to bring your instrument.
What level are the open days aimed at?
The open days are not aimed at undergraduate or postgraduate specifically, they offer an insight to what we offer.
I have a disability – do I need to let you know?
