About Singers' Weekend: Jazz, Gospel & World Music

This two-day course, led by Scott Stroman and Guildhall’s Jazz vocal team, focuses on jazz, gospel, and world music. You will learn songs both as a large ensemble and in smaller vocal groups. There will also be an opportunity to perform individually should you wish to.

Who is the course for?
  • Anyone aged 16 and over with a passion for singing
  • You do not need to be able to read music to attend, as all songs will be taught by ear
What can I expect?

You can expect to learn a variety of songs whilst developing your stylistic, rhythmic and harmonic awareness. The course will cover techniques in using a microphone, movement and vocal exercises. The workshop will culminate in a recorded performance, which will be accompanied by a band on Sunday evening.

"It was just what I was looking for, in my search for a deeper and higher level involvement in singing"

– Richenda, participant on Singers' Weekend, 2024
