About Acting Summer Course for Ages 8-11
This new five-day course invites 8–11-year-olds into a world of playful storytelling where collaboration and imagination take centre stage. Led by professional actors, participants will develop performance skills in a supportive space where every voice is celebrated. Get ready for a boost of creativity and a surge of confidence!
Who is the course for?
Anyone aged 8 to 11 who is curious about acting and theatre. No prior experience is required.
What can I expect?
Participants will work in a group of up to 16, guided by professional actors in a range of practical, workshop-based sessions. Areas of focus will include:
- Voice
- Movement
- Drama games
- Improvisation
- Text work
There will be a small amount of preparation ahead of the course.
The week will conclude with a short, informal sharing of work for parents/guardians. Rather than a traditional ‘show’, it is an opportunity see the creative process in short sections of work.
Do I need anything for the course?
- Comfortable clothing suitable for movement (please bring a spare set, particularly in warm weather)
- Pen/pencil
- Paper
- A set text will be used throughout the course. Please ensure you have purchased a copy and have read and familiarised yourself with it.

Eligibility
- For everyone aged 8–11
- Participants must have sufficient English language skills in order to fully engage with the course
About the Course Tutor
The course is taught by Eva Feiler.
Eva Feiler trained at Guildhall School of Music & Drama (2013). During her training she was awarded the Gold Medal for Drama and Michael Bryant Award for verse speaking performed at the National Theatre.
TV and theatre credits include: We Were the Lucky One (Disney+/Hulu), The Crown (Netflix), Father Brown, Beyond Paradise (BBC), Othello (RSC), The Merchant of Venice (RSC), Eldorado (Arcola Theatre), and The Dog Beneath the Skin (Jermyn Street Theatre). Radio includes: Renaissance Man (BBC Radio 4), Wild Honey (BBC Radio 4) and Believe It! (BBC Radio 4). She won Best Narrator at the Audio Production Awards in 2023.
Eva holds an MA in Actor Training and Coaching from Central School of Speech & Drama (2022) and teaches at various London drama schools (BA and foundation level) as well as regularly teaching on Guildhall short courses. She specialises in workshops on Shakespeare, presence and play.
