Introducing the Nicky Spence Scholarship

Guildhall School is proud to launch the Nicky Spence Scholarship, supporting Vocal Studies students from UK state schools who demonstrate exceptional talent – but who may not have the financial means to accept the offer of a place. 

Thanks to the generosity of a group of donors – brought together by the passion and leadership of alumnus Nicky Spence OBE FGS—an incredible £50,000 has already been raised to fund this life-changing opportunity. Inspired by his own journey, Nicky spearheaded this campaign with warmth, drive and vision, following his appointment as a Fellow of the School in 2024. 

The first Nicky Spence Scholar will begin their studies in September 2025, marking the start of the latest exciting development in Guildhall’s commitment to access and excellence. 

With your support, we can expand the scholarship and open doors for more talented young singers who deserve a place at Guildhall but need financial support to get here.
