Biography

A former music student growing up in Norfolk, Polly gained her first degree at the University of East Anglia and then went on to complete her teaching certificate in the north of England. Later she had an opportunity to fulfil her childhood dream of attending the Royal College of Music London, leading to a Masters’ Degree in Composition for Screen.

As an instrumental teacher and clarinet specialist, Polly has worked in various locations around the UK and latterly the island of Guernsey, where she also played clarinet for the Guernsey Symphony Orchestra. Throughout her teaching career she has directed ensembles ranging from clarinet choirs to jazz bands and orchestras and she has developed a special interest in accompanying and aural training.

Outside of work, Polly continues to enjoy an active performing profile and currently plays for the UEA Symphony Orchestra.
