Izabel Hessian (Costume)

What are you most interested in working in after you graduate?

My time at Guildhall has been a journey of exploring different areas of production and developing my career goals. Through this experience, I have discovered that costume supervising is what captivates me most and is where I see my future career developing.

After graduating, I hope to work as an assistant costume supervisor to continue developing my skills and experience. I am particularly interested in working across theatre and film, with a growing passion for opera through the experience I have gained both at Guildhall and externally. I am also keen to explore festivals and touring productions as a freelancer, building a diverse range of experience across the industry.

What other passions and projects have you enjoyed exploring during your time at Guildhall? 

I have particularly enjoyed taking on Supervisor and Designer roles on smaller productions alongside my peers, both within and outside Guildhall. These projects have given me the opportunity to explore new roles, take on greater responsibility and collaborate creatively with friends, which I have found incredibly fulfilling.

Seeing previous Guildhall students graduate and go on to produce their own work, often creating opportunities for fellow students, has inspired me to begin my own producing journey alongside my third year. I am excited to explore producing as a potential way to broaden my career horizons and create more opportunities to collaborate with others in the future.
