Guildhall Jazz Festival x EFG London Jazz Festival: NYJO Blueprint Orchestra
NYJO Blueprint Orchestra make their EFG London Jazz Festival debut this November at Milton Court, performing the music of jazz trombone pioneer and educator, Bob Bookmeyer. The set will feature repertoire from the 1980 Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra album Live at the Village Vanguard, highlighting the instrumental prowess and creative solos nurtured in the ensemble's intensive rehearsals together.
Under the masterful guidance of composer and bandleader Olivia Murphy, the brand-new big band project from the National Youth Jazz Orchestra is comprised of emerging professional musicians aged 18–25. Their contagious enthusiasm as an ensemble - an amalgamation of each individual’s skills and passion - makes for a show that packs a punch.
