Guildhall Jazz Festival x EFG London Jazz Festival: The Rosa Witts Collective
Guildhall Jazz Festival x EFG London Jazz Festival: The Rosa Witts Collective
The Rosa Witts Collective is a London-based group performing a new set of original and re-workings of music, composed and arranged by Rosa Witts.
Blending the warmth and storytelling of contemporary Folk with the freedom and colour of Jazz, the ensemble creates an acoustic sound centred around lyric, texture, and close musical connection. Their live set is thoughtful, engaging, and highlights the individual strengths of each musician.
At the heart of the project is a strong focus on lyrics and word painting. Rosa’s songwriting explores themes of love, nature, identity, and the emotional ups and downs of modern life, shaped by vivid imagery and honest storytelling. The collective brings these songs to life through subtle arrangements and improvisation, using atmosphere and spontaneous moments to deepen the feeling of each piece. This balance of structure and freedom gives each player space to contribute, making every performance feel fresh and alive.
The Rosa Witts Collective offers a delicate yet expressive live set, drawing listeners in through warmth and intimacy. As Rosa comes to the end of her Master's degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, it feels like an exciting time to be developing new work and looking ahead to future performances.
Part of the School’s annual Jazz Festival, presented in partnership with EFG London Jazz Festival, celebrating the creativity and originality of the Guildhall Jazz community.
