Join Guildhall Young Artists for the National Wind, Brass and Percussion Day 2026.
Calling all young wind, brass and percussion players!
Join us for a lively and inspiring morning of music-making at Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Our team of experienced Guildhall tutors will help you develop your skills, build your confidence and enjoy making music with others in a fun and friendly environment.
This play day is open to young musicians playing any wind, brass or percussion instrument.

Event Details
Date: Sunday 8 November 2026
Venue: Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Silk Street, London, EC2Y 8DT
Time: 10am–1.30pm (doors open from 9.30am)
Age: 9–18
Playing standard: Approximately ABRSM Grade 3 to Grade 6 standard
Enjoy workshops led by Spencer Down, Junior Guildhall Brass Coordinator; Adam Morris, Junior Guildhall Percussion Coordinator; and special guest Jeffery Wilson, saxophonist and GYA Composition Consultant.
Play alongside friends and meet other young musicians while exploring some fantastic music.
You’ll experience different musical styles, pick up top tips from tutors and develop your playing, all while having fun making music together.
- £30 per student
- £20 if you currently attend a Guildhall Young Artist centre or ensemble, or the Centre for Young Musicians
- We want the day to be accessible to everyone, so a £0/pay-what-you-can option is also available. Simply enter any amount you are happy to pay when booking.
Venue information
Silk Street Theatre, Music Hall and Lecture Recital Room are located in the main Guildhall School building on Silk Street and for Barbican produced events the venue can also be accessed from the Barbican if you exit via the doors next to Barbican Kitchen on Level G.
