Student successes in 2023/24
Aisha-Mae McCormick (BA Acting) won the Gold Medal for Acting, awarded to the student who, in the opinion of the Acting staff, has most embraced the spirit and ethos of the training. Aisha-Mae also appeared in Ola Ince’s production of The Crucible at the Globe Theatre, alongside Molly Madigan (BA Acting) and alumna Bethany Woodings (Acting 2024)
Liberty Dearsley (BA Acting) was a finalist for The Spotlight Prize 2025.
Seohyun Go (MPerf Soprano) won Guildhall School’s Gold Medal for Music, the School’s most prestigious music prize for outstanding musicians. She was also a finalist at the Kathleen Ferrier Awards, along with Hector Bloggs (MPerf Baritone/Bass) and Sooyeon Baik (ArtDip Piano).
Redmond Sanders (AdvCert Baritone/Bass) and Hannah McKay (AdvCert Soprano) appeared in performances of Salome in the Barbican Concert Hall with Sir Antonio Pappano and the London Symphony Orchestra. Manon Ogwen Parry (AdvCert Soprano), Julia Solomon (AdvCert Mezzo-Soprano), Caroline Bourg (ArtDip Soprano) and Hayley Meth (MPerf Mezzo-Soprano) also performed with Pappano in the LSO, appearing in Suor Angelica at the BBC Proms and Edinburgh Festival.
Elisabeth Tsai (ArtDip Piano) won first prize at the International Brahms Piano Competition.
Sebastian-Benedict Flore (BMus Piano) won first prize at the Liszt Society International Piano Competition 2024, while Catherine Chang (ArtDip Piano) won second prize.
Jeremy Chan (ArtDip Piano) won first prize at 2025 Beethoven Piano Society of Europe Intercollegiate Piano Competition.
Ami-Louise Johnsson (MPerf Viola) won third Prize at The Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and was selected as a Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel Artist in Residence.
Strahinja Mitrovic (MPerf Double Bass) won The Musician's Company’s Prince's Prize.
At the 29th Annual Kathleen Ferrier Society Bursary Competition Moses Torto (BMus Tenor) won third prize while Charlie Woof-Byrne (MPerf Piano) won The Dennis Horner Accompanist’s Prize.
As part of the Tamesis quartet, Matteo Cimatti (ArtDip Violin), Emily Clark (MPerf Viola) and Theo Bently Curtin (MPerf Cello) won the Cavatina Intercollegiate Chamber Music Competition
William Bracken (ArtDip Piano) won third prize at 2025 Dudley International Piano Competition.
Thomas Masciaga (ArtDip Piano) won third prize and the Robert Turnbull Memorial prize, at the 2025 Sheepdrove Piano Competition.
Ho Chun (Cyrus) Yuen (BMus Violin) was a finalist at the Victoria BCN International Violin Competition.
Eve Quigley (BMus Viola) won Guildhall School’s Max and Peggy Morgan Award.
Cecily Shaw (ArtDip Mezzo-Soprano) won Guildhall School’s English Song Prize.
Zoë Jackson (MPerf Soprano) won Guildhall School’s Susan Longfield Award.
Clive Ziye Guo (BMus Piano) won Guildhall School’s Romantic Piano Prize.
Dan Hibbert (BMus Horn) won Guildhall School’s Armourers and Brasiers’ Brass Prize.
Jonty Gould (BMus Saxophone) won Guildhall School’s Needlemakers' Prize for Woodwind
As Trio Havisham, Zany Denyer (ArtDip Piano) and Seth Collin (MPerf Cello) won Guildhall School’s Ivan Sutton Chamber Music Award.
As the The Florens Quartet, Rowan Dymott (BMus Violin), Evan Lawrence (BMus Violin), Holly Woods (BMus Viola) and Joshua Lucas (BMus Cello) won Guildhall School’s St James’ Chamber Prize.
Dominic Lee (AdvCert Tenor) won Guildhall School’s Keith Bonnington Prize.
Caroline Bourg (ArtDip Soprano) won Guildhall School’s Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors Vocal Prize.
Lauren Jones (BA Production Arts Design Realisation) won the Gold Medal for Production Arts, awarded to a student who, in the opinion of the Production Arts staff, has consistently surpassed all expectations in whatever role they have undertaken, demonstrating exceptional interpersonal skills and making a significant contribution to the department. Lauren was also chosen by their peers to receive the Hazel Sharples Memorial Prize, awarded to an outstanding Guildhall School final-year Production Arts student.
