Biography & Pure profile
What's been your highlight during your time at Guildhall?
My highlight of studying at Guildhall so far has to be my Self-Directed study, where I designed and created a realistic, mutilated torso. Crafting this prop was an incredibly fascinating process that helped me discover my love for SFX. Through this build, I experimented with numerous new technical practices that will undoubtedly elevate my future makes.
What's been your highlight in the industry?
A defining highlight of my journey so far within the industry has been completing a work placement at Millennium FX. They have created a multitude of impressive props - including the legendary monsters from Doctor Who - which is exactly what first inspired me to step into this career path. Getting to work alongside their talented team of prop makers was a true privilege and an invaluable learning experience.
What's something you've learned that you feel will help you when you graduate?
One of the most valuable skills I’ve learnt whilst being at Guildhall, which I believe will aid me greatly within the industry has been developing the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Because our productions have demanding, fast-paced turnaround times, I have learned to maintain my composure under high pressure while remaining flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
The people I work with most have become some of my closest friends, so it’s nice that we have learnt to balance professionalism with friendship.
