Event information

Guildhall's Chamber Music Festival opens with an enchanting programme of chamber works by Bax, Bruckner, Martinů and Brahms.

Join us for this programme that features Bax's dreamy and reflective memorial to friends he lost in the 1916 Easter Uprising, Bruckner's rich and lyrical Adagio from the String Quintet in F major, and Martinů's joyful Nonet, one of the last pieces that the composer wrote. The concert concludes with Brahms Piano Quintet, often referred to as the “crown of his chamber music”, a powerful and heartfelt expression of deep emotion.

Guildhall professors Matthew Jones (viola), Levon Chilingirian (violin), Fraser MacAulay (oboe), Helen Storey (bassoon), Caroline Palmer (piano) and Bartosz Woroch (violin) perform in collaboration with Guildhall instrumentalists.

Online booking for this event opens at 10am on Tuesday 10 February 2026.
