Event information
Enjoy a lively evening of music-making from Junior Guildhall’s Brass Band and Wind Ensemble, conducted by Spencer Down.
This concert celebrates the energy, skill and dedication of the School’s young musicians through an engaging and varied programme for large wind and brass forces.
The Brass Band will perform Richard Strauss' Festmusik Der Stadt Wien, a work technical brilliance and timbral beauty, Adoration by Florence Price with its meditative melody and rich harmonies, and the lively Spanish folk melodies of Rimsky Korsakov's Capriccio Espagnol.
The Wind Orchestra will play John Williams' poignant Hymn to the Fallen from the film Saving Private Ryan, Choreography by Robert Sheldon which draws its inspiration from dance movements found in contemporary theatrical productions, and Stephen Schwartz's music from the musical Wicked.
