Congratulations to Guildhall mezzo-soprano Ema Nikolovska (Guildhall Artist Masters Vocal Studies and now Guildhall Artist Masters Opera Studies) and the Consone Quartet featuring violist Elitsa Bogdanova (Viola 2012), who have been selected to join the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists scheme from 2019-2021.

The scheme is now in its 20th year and aims to nurture and promote some of the world’s best young musicians at the start of their international careers. New Generation Artists are given a number of opportunities as part of the scheme, including broadcasting from some of the UK’s most prestigious venues and festivals, making studio recordings, and collaborating with other NGAs in chamber music.

The announcement follows a string of successes from Guildhall artists in the scheme in recent years, with baritone James Newby (Fellow, Vocal Studies) and tenor Alessandro Fisher (Vocal Studies 2013) part of the scheme for 2018-2020, bass-baritone Ashley Riches (Opera 2012) for 2016-18.

Read more about the scheme and this year’s artists on the BBC website.

See Ema Nikolovska perform in the Gold Medal on Friday 10 May and at the Guildhall Wigmore Recital Prize on Sunday 18 May.
