Guildhall Young Artists' Big Give Appeal

The Guildhall Young Artists' Big Give Appeal is now live!

From the 24 June – 7 July we are raising funds to provide bursaries that enable 20 children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to join any of our Guildhall Young Artists (GYA) programmes.

We need your help to drive a change in arts access. Our goal is £20,000, and with your support, we can do even more. Thanks to the Big Give Anchor Fund, every £1 donated online will be doubled while matching lasts. This is an incredible way to maximise the impact you make, at no extra cost to you.

“I love being here because we get to express who we are in many different ways, shapes and forms.” - Anya (GYA King’s Cross)

Why does it matter?

Performing arts opportunities for state school children have drastically declined in the last decade, placing an even greater importance on the provision offered by GYA to shape the next generation of young artists. A third of our students come from low-income families, and 40% are from the global majority – communities that often face the highest barriers to arts access. With affordability presenting a major challenge, many of our GYA participants would be excluded from the arts altogether without their funded place with us. In 2024, 33% of GYA students received bursaries to study with us and the demand for this financial support is only likely to grow.

In ensuring access to the performing arts through our GYA bursaries, we can help children from all backgrounds to discover the transformative power of creativity. GYA’s exceptional teaching builds life-long skills including communication, teamwork and resilience, and nurtures self-expression and confidence. These tools enhance children’s education and unlock future opportunities both within and outside of the performing arts sector.

“It’s created so many opportunities for me and I’ve grown so much as a person since coming here.” – Matilda (GYA Norwich)

How can you help?

By donating to the Guildhall Young Artists' Big Give Appeal, you are helping to build our bursary provision to give opportunities to the most disadvantaged young people. Together, we can ensure that our cohort remains inclusive, and give all children access to GYA’s conservatoire-quality performing arts training.

Please support our Guildhall Young Artists' Big Give Appeal by donating via our Big Give webpage between noon on 24 June and noon on 7 July, or considering sharing our Appeal with anyone in a position to help transform the lives of children through the performing arts.
