ALUMNI SPOKEN WORD POETRY COMPETITION - £500 PRIZE
A new spoken word poetry prize for Guildhall School of Music & Drama Alumni

About the competition:
Guildhall School of Music & Drama’s Innovation team in partnership with Together for Mental Wellbeing are launching a competition for a Spoken Word Poet to write and perform a poem responding to the relationship between art and mental wellbeing.
The winning poet will be awarded £500, and will be invited to perform their work at the Together Henry Hawkins Lecture 2023, taking place on Wednesday 13September at the Milton Court Theatre.
Together is a national mental health charity working alongside people with mental health issues on their journey towards independent and fulfilling lives. The newly re-launched Henry Hawkins Lecture Series celebrates the legacy of Together’s founder Henry Hawkins and will include high profile speakers from the world of arts, culture, healthcare and academia. We recommend circa 2 minutes in length (circa 300 words).
