ON FIRE: The Heart & Passion of the Saxophone

Join Guildhall School Professor Christian Forshaw for a captivating saxophone recital that explores the heart and soul of this evocative instrument. This programme journeys through a rich selection of music that ignited Forshaw’s own love for the saxophone, from the timeless elegance of Baroque repertoire to the fiery intensity of Argentinian Tango. The concert culminates with Dave Heath’s On Fire, a poignant tribute to the legendary cellist and Guildhall School alumna Jacqueline Du Pré, showcasing the saxophone’s capacity for deep emotion and virtuosity. Professor Forshaw is joined by Guildhall School alumna Jenny Ng (Piano 2007).
