Jamel Alatise (BA Performance & Creative Enterprise)

Jamel Duane Alatise is a socially engaged Artist-Creative, who is focussed primarily on poetry, publishing and photography. Jamel’s work in whichever medium prioritises our connections and stories. He is the founder of People Journal - a publication devoted to slow storytelling - and is an ardent explorer of Art, Culture, and Design.

Since graduating from Guildhall School of Music & Drama, he has worked in the third sector as a Social Action Manager for the National Citizen Service before freelancing, working with clients such as Nike, Studio Jobe Burns, Tiata Fadhozi, Mama Festivals and more.

He now intends to begin his own studio practice and agency, involving some of his peers, alongside the deepening of his own artistry.
