Biography

Ingrid Mackinnon is a movement director, choreographer and teacher. She has an MA in Movement: Direction & Teaching from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She has taught actor movement for Mountview and ALRA South and taught contemporary dance technique for London Studio Centre and London Contemporary Dance School. She is a visiting lecturer for Royal Central School of Speech and Drama on the MA Movement: Direction & Teaching and MA Music Theatre courses.  

Recent theatre credits include #WeAreArrested (Arcola/RSC The Other Place), Merchant Of Venice First Encounters (RSC), Typical (Nouveau Riche, Soho Theatre), The Border (Theatre Centre), Breathing Space (Royal Court Theatre), Liar Heretic Thief (Lyric), #DR@CULA! (RCSSD), Kingdom Come (RSC The Other Place), Fantastic Mr. Fox (associate movement Nuffield Southampton and National/International tour). Choreography and rehearsal direction credits include Hansel and Gretel (assistant choreographer and rehearsal director) for Uchenna Dance, The Headwrap Diaries (assistant choreographer and rehearsal director) for Uchenna Dance, Boy Breaking Glass (rehearsal director) for Vocab Dance/Alesandra Seutin. 

Ingrid is co-founder of MoveSpace, an informal network for movement directors and movement teachers to share practice and connect with peers.
